In the project “To Remind of Death”, Thai artist Jakkaphat Bunmachertchai communicates these truths through a series of black-and-white images, inspired by his time as a monk in Thailand, where he feared the unknown aspects of death and the afterlife. In Thai Buddhism, death is seen as part of the life cycle, emphasizing the journey through one’s lifetime, giving life its true meaning and value. This perspective eases fear, fostering acceptance.
Jakkaphat learned that death is not an end but a part of life’s journey, an insight he now conveys through his art.
